About

What WebP to JPG does

Convert WebP images to JPG. Websites serve WebP because it is small, so a picture saved from a page often arrives as .webp, and not every app, editor or upload form takes it. A JPG opens everywhere.

Everything happens on your own machine: the file is decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser, and never leaves your device. There is no upload, no queue and no account.

Why this one

Why use WebP to JPG here

  • Opens anywhere

Images saved from websites are often WebP, which some apps, editors and upload forms still refuse. A JPG opens everywhere.

  • Many at once

Drop as many WebP files as you like; they convert together and download as one ZIP.

  • Quality you choose

JPG is compressed, and the slider sets how much. 80, the default, suits most photos.

  • Nothing is uploaded

Your images are converted by your own browser and never leave your device.

How it works

How to use WebP to JPG

  1. Drop your WebP files onto the page, click to choose them, or paste one from the clipboard.

  2. JPG is already chosen. Move the quality slider if you want a smaller file or a sharper one.

  3. Each image converts as soon as it is added, and shows its size before and after.

  4. Download one image, or all of them as a ZIP.

Questions

Frequently asked

How do I convert WebP to JPG?

Drop the WebP files here. Each is converted to JPG straight away; download them one at a time or together as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.

Why do images from websites save as WebP?

Sites send WebP because it is smaller than JPG or PNG at the same quality, so pages load faster. Your browser saves the file in the format the site sent, which is why Save image often gives you a .webp file.

How do I open a WebP file?

Every current browser opens WebP, as do most up-to-date photo apps. For anything that will not, convert it to JPG here.

Will converting WebP to JPG lose quality?

A little: both formats are compressed, so the JPG is a second round. At the default quality of 80 the difference is hard to see; raise it for the sharpest result.

What happens to transparency?

JPG has none, so transparent areas are filled with white. Convert to PNG instead to keep them.

What about animated WebP?

Only the first frame is converted, because a JPG cannot move.

Are my images uploaded?

No. They are converted inside this page, on your device, and saved straight back to it. Nothing is sent to a server, so there is no copy anywhere else to delete.
