About
What HEIC to JPG does
Convert the HEIC photos an iPhone produces into JPG or PNG that anything can open — Windows, older software, web forms and email clients that reject HEIC.
Everything happens on your own machine: the file is decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser, and never leaves your device. There is no upload, no queue and no account.
Why this one
Why use HEIC to JPG here
-
Your photos stay yours
Camera-roll photos are personal. They are converted inside your browser and never sent anywhere.
-
As many as you like
Convert a whole album at once and download it as one ZIP. There is no limit on the number of photos or their size.
-
Location left behind
The GPS position and camera details stored in a HEIC photo are not copied into the JPG, so it is safe to share.
-
JPG or PNG
JPG for the smallest file that opens anywhere, with a quality slider; PNG when you want no further compression.

Questions
Frequently asked
How do I convert HEIC to JPG?
Drop the HEIC photos here. Each one is converted to JPG straight away, and you can download them one at a time or together as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.
Why do my iPhone photos open as HEIC?
Apple made HEIC the default capture format because it stores comparable quality in roughly half the space of JPG. The trade-off is compatibility: plenty of software outside the Apple ecosystem still cannot read it.
Will I lose quality converting HEIC to JPG?
Converting between two lossy formats does involve a re-encode, so the result is not bit-identical. At default quality the difference is not visible in normal viewing. Choose PNG if you want to avoid a second lossy pass entirely.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Decoding and conversion both run in your browser, which matters more than usual here — camera-roll photos are personal, and they never leave your device.
Does it keep the photo's date and location?
No. The JPG carries the picture only: the location, date and camera details stored in the HEIC are not copied. That makes it safe to share, but keep the originals if you want that information in your photo library.
How do I convert HEIC on Windows?
Right here: open this page in Edge or Chrome and drop the photos in. Windows cannot show HEIC photos without an extra codec, but nothing needs installing to convert them here.
Can I stop my iPhone saving photos as HEIC?
Yes: in Settings, go to Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible. New photos are then saved as JPG; the ones already taken stay HEIC, which is what this converter is for.
Is there a limit on how many photos I can convert?
No. Convert as many as you like in one go; the only limit is your device's memory.
