About
What PNG to JPG does
Convert PNG images to JPG, the format every app, website, email and print shop takes. Photos come out far smaller; transparent areas are filled with white, since JPG cannot store them; and the quality is yours to set.
Everything happens on your own machine: the file is decoded, processed and re-encoded by your browser, and never leaves your device. There is no upload, no queue and no account.
Why this one
Why use PNG to JPG here
-
Far smaller photos
A photo saved as PNG is often several times bigger than it needs to be. As a JPG it shrinks to a fraction of that, at a quality you choose.
-
White, not black
JPG cannot hold transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white rather than the black some converters leave behind.
-
Hundreds at once
Drop as many PNGs as you like. They convert together and download as a single ZIP.
-
Nothing is uploaded
Your images are converted by your own browser and never leave your device.
How it works
How to use PNG to JPG
-
Drop your PNG files onto the page, click to choose them, or paste one from the clipboard.
-
JPG is already chosen. Move the quality slider for a smaller file or a sharper one; 80 suits most photos.
-
Each image converts as soon as it is added, and shows its size before and after.
-
Download one image, or all of them as a ZIP.

Questions
Frequently asked
How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Drop the PNG files here. Each is converted to JPG straight away; download them one at a time or together as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.
Will converting PNG to JPG lose quality?
A little, by design: JPG is compressed. In a photo it is hard to see at the default quality of 80. Screenshots, text and line art can show faint smudges around edges, so raise the quality for those, or keep them as PNG.
What happens to a transparent background?
It turns white. JPG has no transparency, so something has to fill it, and white is what nearly every use expects. To keep it transparent, convert to WebP instead, or keep the PNG.
Why is my JPG bigger than the PNG?
It can happen with simple graphics — flat colours and few shades — which PNG stores very efficiently. For those, PNG is the better format; JPG wins on photographs.
PNG or JPG: which should I use?
JPG for photographs, where it is far smaller. PNG for screenshots, logos, text and anything that needs a transparent background.
Can I convert other formats to JPG here?
Yes. WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF files dropped here come out as JPG too, and you can switch the format if you change your mind.
Are my images uploaded?
No. They are converted inside this page, on your device, and saved straight back to it. Nothing is sent to a server, so there is no copy anywhere else to delete.
