How to convert image

Frequently asked questions
- Which format should I choose?
- For the web, WebP is usually the right answer — it is markedly smaller than JPG or PNG at comparable quality and is supported by every current browser. Use PNG when you need lossless quality or transparency, JPG for maximum compatibility with older software, and AVIF when you want the smallest file and control where it will be viewed.
- Does converting to JPG lose transparency?
- Yes. JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are flattened onto a background when you convert. If you need to keep transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead.
- Why is AVIF sometimes unavailable?
- AVIF encoding is done by your browser, and not every browser ships an AVIF encoder. When yours cannot encode it, that option is marked as unsupported rather than silently producing a different format.
- Is there a file size or batch limit?
- There is no limit imposed by us, because there is no server involved. The practical ceiling is your own device memory — very large batches of very large images are bounded by available RAM.
